THE name may be a mouthful but REMAP is a voluntary organisation doing a great job, designing and providing specialised equipment to improve life for the disabled and their carers.
The initials stand for "Rehabilitation Engineering Movement Advisory Panels".
Birkby inventor and retired valve engineer Mike Smith is publicity officer for the local panel, centred on Leeds, which also covers Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale.
Now they are looking for engineers, tradespeople, craftsmen or DIY enthusiasts, especially those with access to workshop facilities.
