MUSLIMS paid tribute to shopkeeper Gurmail Singh who died after he was attacked in his shop.
Hanfia Mosque and Institute on Bentley Street in Lockwood held a community service on Saturday evening in memory of the Sikh businessman.
It was organised by Huddersfield Council Of Mosques and attended by more than 250 people.
Kirklees Council leader Clr Mehboob Khan said: “Mr Singh’s brother and nephew came to the service organised by the Muslim community to remember Gurmail Singh and to offer solidarity and support to the family.
“It shows that the community in Huddersfield come together regardless of race or religion.”
Mr Singh, 63, suffered fatal injuries in a raid at the shop in Cowcliffe on Saturday, February 20.
Five men have been charged with murdering him.
