Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday today.

The Queen, who became Britain's longest reigning monarch last September, today marks another milestone today as she enters her 90th year.

And Huddersfield is joining in the celebrations for Her Majesty's big day.

Traders in Lindley are celebrating the monarch’s milestone by putting flags up above the shops on Lidget Street.

And they will be there up to the last weekend in June when Lidget Street will be closed on the evening of Friday, June 24, for a street party to mark The Queen’s birthday. The weekend will then feature Lindley carnival and fun run.

A beacon will also be lit at Crossley Farm on Crossley Lane in Mirfield at 7pm today to mark The Queen’s Birthday.
