For the past three weeks, we've been immersed in Sally Wainwright's Happy Valley - and it has been anything but.

Set in Sowerby Bridge, the dark BBC One drama has had viewers on the edge of their seats with its gritty portrayal of drugs, violence, kidnapping and ransom.

But did you know there are a multitude of places called Happy Valley around the world?

From Australia to America, India, China and beyond, there are people living in their own Happy Valleys - hopefully with less drama!

Happy Valley is also the name of a chain of Chinese theme parks, is the nickname for Boehmer Army Airfield, Germany, and has been used as an unofficial name for areas of Kenya and Uganda in Africa.

The UK also has its own Happy Valleys - one is a garden in Orkney, Scotland, while the other is a park in Coulson, London.

Back in Sowerby Bridge, events in Sally Wainwright's Happy Valley are reaching a climax as the drama enters week five - with the final episode due to air next week.
