A VILLAGE pub is set to revive the tradition of marking a good harvest - but it will be a charity that is left celebrating.
The Hare and Hounds on Liley Lane, Upper Hopton, is to hold its own harvest festival, making a display of produce to pay tribute to the reaping season.
Landlord Peter Stocks will start the display off with an array of items.
He is also looking for locals to come forward and give some wares for the display.
The items will be in a harvest hamper for guests to see.
They will then be given to the Salvation Army.
Mr Stocks said: "Harvest festival is a time to mark quality produce and we thought it was only fitting that the inn should have a display.
"We believe it is a great opportunity to help the needy."
Anyone wanting to give produce to the display should contact him on 01924 481021.
