RUGBY player Eorl Crabtree provides plenty of drive for the Huddersfield Giants.

Now Netherton-based haulage firm The Pink Link has named one of its lorries after him.

Giants fan John Rushworth, 22, of Golcar, was the winner of a competition, run by The Pink Link, to name five trucks after his personal heroes back in September last year, with a chance to win a signed Huddersfield Giants shirt.

John was presented with his shirt and met Eorl – the Giants’ longest-serving player – at a presentation held at The Pink Link’s officesThe competition tied in with The Pink Link’s sponsorship at The Galpharm Stadium to encourage pride in the town’s sporting legends.

The trucks will be named after Eorl Crabtree, Paul Reilly, Dave Valentine, Harold Wagstaff and Stanley Gene.
