VILLAGERS can have their say on the future of a Colne Valley river project.

The River Colne Project has organised its fifth River Forum, for people to give their views about continuing work.

A sculpture trail is planned, inspired by the river.

More ideas are wanted to help enhance the riverside and involve the community in conservation.

River Colne Project officer Mick Smith said he wanted as many people as possible to help develop themes and ideas for the trail.

And he wants help to catalogue existing sculptures, where they are and what type of art they are.

The River Forum will be at Slaithwaite Civic Hall at 7.30pm next Thursday. It will include an introduction by Tom Lonsdale, chairman of the Colne Valley Trust.

Also, David Wilkinson, director of Lowry Renaissance, which is converting historic Titantic Mill, Linthwaite will speak and answer questions.

Anyone interested in going to the event can phone Mick Smith on 01484 847790 or email mick@cvt. org.uk
