SEVEN people were taken to hospital after two cars crashed head-on.
Two of the victims were said to be seriously injured.
The crash happened on a stretch of New Hey Road between Rastrick and
Ainley Top. A Fiat Punto and Peugeot 307 were in collision just after 6.30pm
yesterday evening. The road was closed for several hours after the accident.
Firefighters from Elland and Brighouse had to cut the driver of the
Fiat out of the car. The casualties were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
The crash was near to where the M62 crosses New Hey Road.
