A MENTAL health charity is appealing for help finding a Huddersfield counselling base.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) World is calling on businesses with a spare office to help expand its service in this area.

The national charity - for people with personality disorders including mood swings and erratic behaviour - already has a base in Wakefield.

Now plans are under way to open a counselling room for sufferers in Huddersfield.

Joshua Cole, of the charity, said: "What we will be able to offer depends on what is available.

"We would like to use the office to not only offer counselling, but also as a base for our support workers.

"We would hope to have a couple of volunteers there who could also take calls from the national helpline.

"But we don't have the finances to be able to do it."

He said once a base had been found, the charity could then apply for local cash to help run the service.

BPD is a severe mental illness which affects 2% of the adult population.

The charity provides sufferers with advice, information and support.

Anyone with an empty office who can help is asked to call Joshua on 0870 0887053.
