TATTOO artists can learn more about health and safety laws in a free workshop.

Kirklees Council’s health and safety team are running the event for tattoo and body piercing operatives in Kirklees.

It is open to all owners and employees of tattooing and body piercing studios in the district to find out about the current health and safety laws and latest tattoo and piercing developments.

Clr Mary Harkin, Cabinet member for health and safety, said: “It is important to keep up-to-date with the latest laws and the information and advice provided on safe practice will help prevent and control infection which could be a risk to health.

“The advice covered ranges from registering businesses, training, cleaning and sterilising techniques, documentation and waste disposal.”

It will take place on Thursday, July 29, at 9am at the Textile Centre, Red Doles Lane, off Leeds Road, Huddersfield.
