HEALTH chiefs have taken a new recruitment drive to the road to promote careers in the NHS.

The West Yorkshire NHS Jobs Bus was in Huddersfield on Thursday as staff looked for new recruits.

The bus stopped off at Sainsbury's Shore Head store and job hopefuls came along to check out what careers were on offer. The bus also visited Batley and Halifax.

The event was one of 220 across the UK aimed at getting more people into careers in the health service.

Health Secretary John Reid said: The NHS can offer great careers, both for young people and those with more experience, with jobs that fit around people's lives and provide fantastic development potential.

"Using the bus enables people of all ages and experiences to talk to local staff about their careers and about the bene- fits of working in the NHS."
