The Care Quality Commission has given NHS community services provider, Locala, a good report.

The not-for-profit social enterprise provides a number of services in Kirklees such as district nurses, health visitors and stop smoking services.

It is based in Batley but has a large presence at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital, Holmfirth.

Unannounced inspections of all seven of Locala’s services have revealed no problems.

Locala’s homecare service also passed all inspections.

Tina Quinn, Locala’s director of clinical and operational services, said: “We are very pleased to receive these excellent reports which give a clear, strong and reassuring message to our patients and the local community about the high quality standards of Locala services.”

Locala, an independent Community Interest Company provides services to over 400,000 people in Kirklees and beyond and employs 1,200 workers.

In addition to district nursing and health visiting, staff also provide occupational therapy, contraception and sexual health services at the Princess Royal Community Health Centre in Huddersfield, dental services at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital, Batley, Dewsbury and Cleckheaton health centres and at Broughton House and the Whitehouse GP practices in Batley and Huddersfield respectively.

As it is not-for-profit, any financial surplus is re-invested back into patient care.
