A CHANCE to get healthy is being offered in taster sessions at Skelmanthorpe.

A three-week programme starts on February 3, run by Pals, the Practice Activity and Leisure Scheme.

Organiser Becky Taylor, who works for Kirklees Council, said: "We will offer the opportunity for people to try out activities and build up to the levels of activity which are recommended in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"As well as the bene- fits to their health, the way they feel and look, many Pals have also enjoyed the social side of taking part in different activities, as well as having a chat over a welcome drink at the end of the session."

Taster sessions to be held at Skelmanthorpe Information Point in the council offices on Commercial Road are:

* February 3: stretch and flex class

* February 10: a circuit

* February 17: a short walk from the library around Skelmanthorpe.

All sessions run from 2pm to 3pm. There will be a £1.35 charge for each session to cover refreshments.

Becky is holding a drop-in session to give more details from 2pm to 3pm on Thursday at the information point.
