A CHARITY has appealed for more volunteers to help runs its shops.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is calling for new volunteers for its chain of 600 shops and rapidly expanding number of furniture and electrical stores.

Each shop needs 115 hours of time each week from its volunteers who donate the equivalent of over £36m in time.

There are different roles available in BHF shops, including customer services and sales assistants, stock room/warehouse assistants and stock collectors, who must have their own transport.

Mike Lucas, director of retail for British Heart Foundation said: “With more than 2.6m people in the UK living with heart disease, most of us know someone affected by heart disease.

“By joining our team of BHF shop volunteers you can help make a real difference and contribute to our life-saving work.”
