A MAN has been prosecuted by Kirklees Council for failing to tidy his garden.
Mohammed Usman, of Briar Close, Heckmondwike, has been convicted of not complying with a notice telling him to keep his garden clear of waste.
It was littered with flagstones and dumped furniture.
Dewsbury Magistrates heard the council had contacted Usman and asked him to clear his garden of waste and he was served a notice when he didn’t comply.
Although he then cleared some of the waste, he didn’t remove it all and was then issued with a fixed penalty notice which he did not pay.Š
He was prosecuted and private contractors were brought in by the council to clear waste from the garden.
Usman was found guilty in his absence at the court hearing. He was fined £100 plus £15 victim support and £375 costs.
