A Heckmondwike woman who died in a head on collision in Drightlington has been named by police.
Kellie Marie Robertshaw, 28, was driving a black Vauxhall Astra when it was in collision with a white Peugeot Blipper van travelling in the opposite direction on the Drighlington bypass at 11pm on Friday, August 1.
Miss Robertshaw, of Heckmondwike, was confirmed dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, a 68-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Det Sgt Carole Greaves, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Although enquiries are still in their early stages, we believe the Astra might have misjudged a bend which led to it being in collision with the van”.
Anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
