Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger has promised “he’ll be back” after enjoying food from one of Huddersfield’s top chefs.
Arnie, star of Terminator and dozens of other movie blockbusters, was in Leeds on Friday for an event with chat show host Jonathan Ross.
During his stay in Yorkshire he was personally catered for by a team from Lindley restaurant, Eric’s.
Owner and chef Eric Paxman said he was “very proud” to have kept the ‘Governator’ happy.
“We’re definitely international now,” said Eric, who opened the Lidgett Street restaurant in 2010.
Eric said he got the top gig to feed Schwarzenegger, 67, and his entourage, including his girlfriend Heather Milligan and son Patrick, 21, boyfriend of Miley Cyrus, after being approached by an agent.
Eric, who is banned from revealing where Arnie and pals stayed in West Yorkshire, spent the whole day offering the American millionaire a butler service and meals, even providing a full English breakfast on Saturday morning.
“He was really nice cool guy,” said Eric.
“He loved his food and he loves the UK.
“We looked after him and made sure he was happy and comfortable.”
Eric said the company that had employed him to feed the former bodybuilder and Governor of California, had been impressed and promised more work with A list celebrities.
And he said it was definitely a case of “Hasta La Vista Baby” as Arnie had asked for his number for next time he was in the country.
“We invited him to visit our restaurant,” said Eric. “And he asked for our number so his agent can get directions.”
Tickets for the Evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger event at Elland Road were as much as £1,500.
The black tie event featured an insight into the life of the Austrian born star, who started out as a professional bodybuilder, before finding fame in the movies in the early 1980s.
After the success of 1984 sci-fi flick Terminator he became known for his dry one-liners, including “I’ll be back”, “Come with me if you want to live” and “Hasta la vista, baby.”
Like Ronald Reagan before him, Arnie moved into politics and became the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
The trip to Leeds is not Schwarzenegger’s first.
He revealed earlier this month how became close friends with little-known Leeds United reserve player Reg Park during bodybuilding contests in Yorkshire in the 1960s and had visited the city many times before.
Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role as the Terminator in the fifth instalment of the sci-fi series, Terminator Genisys, out next summer.
