A GOOD Samaritan rushed to help a 16- year-old girl who fell prey to three thieves.

She was walking through the Trinity Street subway, from Huddersfield town centre towards the Technical College, at 4pm on Friday when the muggers stopped her.

They dragged her to the ground and stole her handbag.

But as they made their getaway a man driving past saw what was happening.

He got out of his car and started to chase the attackers.

The thieves dropped the handbag and fled - but they had stolen some money from it.

The man picked the bag up and gave it back to the girl before driving off.

All the robbers are Asians aged between 17 and 19.

One is 6ft and slim and wore a black Nike hooded top and dark, baggy jeans. Another is only 5ft and slim. He wore an LA Lakers top.

The third is 6ft. He wore a black and white basketball top and dark, baggy jeans.

Police want the driver to come forward.
