PEOPLE over 60 are being given help to keep warm.

If you fit the bill and have a gross income of under £20,000 a year, you could be eligible for free cavity wall and loft insulation.

The scheme is being publicised after fears that recently announced fuel price rises will make it even harder for some people to keep warm.

The Keep Warm scheme (Kirklees Energy Efficiency Programme) is run by the council in partnership with the Scottish Power company.

To qualify for the scheme you also need to be a homeowner or a tenant in private rented accommodation and to pay council tax to Kirklees.
