HARDY villagers have refused to be beaten by the wet weather this weekend.
That’s why the eighth biennial Hepworth Garden Trail will still be going ahead tomorrow (1-6pm).
The trail, organised by Hepworth Church, features 14 manicured garden scattered around the rural village.
The event, which includes an art exhibition and lunch at Hepworth Church from noon, will raise cash for Holy Trinity.
Villagers had feared exceptionally wet weather would force organisers to cancel the event.
Numerous outdoor events have been cancelled this weekend due to inclement conditions.
And while Hepworth J&I School has been forced to pull out, organiser Sheena Blunden said the event would be going ahead regardless.
Ms Blunden said yesterday: “We’ve spent so long organising it and we’re so close to the event we don’t want to let people down.”
Tickets (£4) are available from Dobroyd Mill car park, off Butt Lane, and all participating gardens.
