YOUNG inventors pitched their creations in a Dragons’ Den-style contest to raise cash for charity.

Seventeen 10-year-olds from schools in the Colne and Holme valleys designed, produced and marketed products as part of a summer school at the Topspin Study Centre at Thongsbridge Tennis Club.

The Dragons were club chairman Graham Cooksey, Fiona Willats, school development worker at Castle and Minster Credit Union, and Michael Meitiner, a volunteer at the centre.

Charities chosen included Save The Children and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Pupil Emily Taylor said: “It has been worth coming. I’ve never done anything like this before. I have got used to money and made friends.”
