EVER fancied doing our jobs? Do you read our reports and features and think: "I'd love to do that!"

Then this is the opportunity for you. It's Local Newspaper Week from May 16 to 22.

And to celebrate we've decided to give three people the chance to write for the Examiner.

We reckon we've got something lined up to tempt any would-be journalist.

To enter our contest you can be any age and from any walk of life. You just need to be able to persuade us you're the top choice for the job!

Our three opportunities include:

* Be a beauty writer for the day. Get a pampering at The Treatment Suite, Waterloo, then see your verdict printed in the Examiner.

* Review a restaurant. Have a meal on us and tell us what you thought of it. Then see your words of wisdom in our regular Friday eating out slot. We'll help you choose a restaurant to review, based on what sort of food you like.

* Try your hand at sports writing. Accompany our rugby league writer Chris Roberts to see Huddersfield Giants play London Broncos on Sunday, May 15, and file a report for publication!

Examiner editor Roy Wright said: "For the beauty and food reviewing roles we're looking for readers who're chatty and outgoing, and don't mind asking nosy questions.

"For the sports job, you'll need to be a mad-keen fan. Don't worry too much about grammatical perfection and perfect spelling. We can help you out with things like that.

"We're more interested in enthusiasm for the tasks we're setting you! We want to hear from men and women, young and old, from all over town. Don't be shy. Get in touch!"

For your chance to win, write to us and tell us WHICH prize you want to win and WHY, in about 100 words.

Don't forget to tell us a bit about yourself, too; age, occupation and family details, as well as your name, address and phone numbers.

Write to Jenny Parkin, Examiner, PO Box A26, Queen Street South, Huddersfield HD1 2TD by a week today. Or you can send an email to the address below.
