CHILDREN from a day nursery released more than 100 balloons to help raise funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal.
They decorated the balloons using handprints and special designs at Hawthorns Private Day Nursery, on Station Road in Skelmanthorpe.
Parents, carers and other family members joined in to make the event a success and release their Balloon for Haiti.
Donations for the event were asked for and £70 has been raised so far with more money to come in.
The children cheered and waved at their balloon as it floated in to the sky.
The nursery has also been selling buns and cakes all week which have helped to raise more cash.
