A £3m Holme Valley housing development has attracted major interest from buyers.

Now developer Eden Luxury Living is seeking other sites in the Huddersfield area to build up-market flats and houses following the success of its Holmfirth scheme.

Agents have sold four of the seven upmarket properties planned for the former Victoria Mills site at Woodhead Road.

The scheme was announced last July and the properties were sold while the proposals were still at the planning stage.

The first phase of the scheme will provide seven houses with south-facing balconies overlooking landscaped gardens and the Holme Valley. Eden also proposes a second phase of seven apartments. They are on the market from £159,000.

The homes will have

an ISDN line and broadband internet connection.

Jason Noades, managing director of developer Eden Luxury Living, said: "Not everyone wants to live in a city centre - and cutting edge style is not exclusive to `townies'.

"People who live here can easily commute to work - or take advantage of the integral `smart' technology in their apartment and work from home."

Mr Noades said: "We expect the remaining properties to be sold long before the development is complete."
