YORKSHIRE Water is urging the region's people to take to the hills over Christmas.
Its plea for people to get walking comes after a report by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence warned a quarter of adults in the UK are obese.
Yorkshire Water's Miles Foulger said: "The company owns 72,000 acres of land and more than 100 reservoirs, all criss- crossed by a network of footpaths and bridleways, and most are open to the public."
Details of more than 30 walks available across the region can be downloaded from the Yorkshire Water website at www.yorkshirewater.com including routes around reservoirs within a few miles of Huddersfield.
