A popular farm shop and restaurant destroyed by fire is to be rebuilt on the same site.
Last night Kirklees Council planning sub-committee members unanimously approved plans for the new shop and restaurant at the existing site in Netherton Moor Road.
Both buildings at Hinchliffe’s Farm in Netherton were destroyed by fire in 2010.
The farm has been based in temporary accommodation since but bosses vowed after the fire to re-build the business.
General manager Simon Hirst, great grandson of Hinchliffe’s founder Allan Hinchliffe, had promised to come back bigger and better and now it appears there is nothing stopping them.
The plans are predominantly single storey with a small upper floor. The restaurant will have a view of Castle Hill.
The farm, described as being “very much part of Netherton” employs 51 full and part time staff.
