HUDDERSFIELD hip hop duo Snappa 'n' Savage have become a hit on a TV music channel.

Deighton MCs Snappa 'n' Savage - also known as Dean Powell and Dennis Dixon - have their track What's This World? featured on Sky Digital music channel 905.

The track was first played in August on channel 905's show The Climax, alongside tunes from artists worldwide.

However, it proved so popular that it was also added to another show called Hot Trax and was ranked as one of the best five songs on rotation.

It has been on the channel for about a month.

Dean and Dennis, who have been working together for years, got their music on TV after sending off a CD to music company Pulse Unsigned.

The company, whose partners include Sony, Radio 1 and Warner Brothers, specialise in seeking out new talent.

Dennis said: "We were just doing research about which companies to send our material to and Pulse Unsigned was one of the companies.

"We've had a really good response to our song on the channel and we're very pleased.

"The song features another Huddersfield R&B artist, Marie Buckle, and it's all about questioning street life. A lot of people seem to be identifying with it."

Dennis and Dean are working on recording new material and then plan to take to the road to do live shows.

* You can catch Snappa 'n' Savage's track on channel 905 Hot Trax on Fridays from 8pm to 9pm, Mondays from noon to 1pm and Sundays from 6pm to 7pm.

It can be seen on The Climax on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9pm to 11pm.
