HOLLY Mayfield loves swimming so much she is planning to swim eight lakes.
But for the 12-year-old, she will swim the distance in a swimming pool and hopes to raise £1,000.
She has already started the Seven Lakes Challenge, but decided to add the distance of an eighth lake too.
It means the kind-hearted 12-year-old has to swim 10,112 lengths on her own to complete the challenge.
And she’s doing it for charity too – raising money for Cats Protection where her grandma Janet Campbell works as a welfare officer.
Holly, who lives at Stainland and attends Brooksbank School Sports College, Elland, where she is in year seven, said: “I love swimming, I go four times a week and am like a fish in water.
“When I saw the challenge I wanted to do it and I wanted to do it for charity too.
“I’ve already swum the distance of four of the lakes so I have to do the other four now.”
Holly is a cat lover, looking after Lolla and Bindi at the family home where she lives with parents SImon and Claire and six-year-old sister Lucy.
