A CHARITY is gearing up to open its gates to the public at one of the biggest events on its calendar.

Hollybank Trust will welcome visitors on Sunday, June 26, for an It’s A Knockout competition.

The contest, based on the popular TV show of the 1970s, will take place on the same day as the trust’s Family Fun Day, which is also open to the public with free entrance and parking at its Roe Head site in Mirfield.

The trust, which cares for children and adults with complex disabilities, will use both events to help raise its profile in the area.

Chief executive Pam King said: “The whole of Hollybank really looks forward to days such as this.

“Being able to invite the community to visit our site and see what makes Hollybank so special is a real bonus for us.”

“This is the second event of this type in as many years. Last year was a great success and we aim to make this year even better.

“We will be welcoming various local bands and performing groups along with a variety of events including circus activities, penalty shootouts and a police dog demonstration.”

The trust is seeking teams of 10 to enter the It’s A Knockout competition. Tel 01924 483906
