FISHING enthusiasts in the Holme Valley hosted a visit by a group of disabled anglers from Sheffield.

Members of Sheffield Disabled Anglers Club enjoyed a day’s competitive fishing at Magdale Dam, Honley, with organisers from Holme Valley Piscatorial Society.

The competition was won by Sheffield man Dave Ager, who landed 5lbs 8oz of roach and perch during four hours of fishing.

Prizes of angling equipment were supplied by Paddock fishing supplies shop The Bait Kitchen.

The day was rounded off with a meal and refreshments laid on at Honley Socialist Club.

Holme Valley society spokesman Peter Budd said: “We have been organising these events with the Sheffield club for a number of years and it’s always nice to welcome them back.”
