ORGANISERS of a major music festival have asked Kirklees Council for support.

The council’s Valleys Committee will decide tomorrow whether to commit £2,620 to Holmfirth Folk Festival.

The money would finance 12 folk dancing workshops in Huddersfield and Holmfirth, story-telling street performers and children’s entertainer Colonel Custard.

The Valleys Committee will decide on the proposed spending at its meeting at Golcar Providence Church at 7pm tomorrow.

The festival takes place at venues across Holmfirth from May 6 to May 8.
