HOLMFIRTH Harriers Junior Triathlon saw 100 entrants this year.

The children aged between eight and 16 tackled a tough three part challenge which included swimming, cycling and running at the Sands Recreation Ground.

The event received funding from Yorkshire Building Society’s Community Investment fund – a fund created to support smaller causes.

Holmfirth Yorkshire building society branch manager Julian Windras said: “The event is still new but is getting more popular by the year. We wish it and young competitors every success in the future.”
