AN EVENT celebrating Holmfirth’s famous tiger Fenella will be held next month.
The Holmfirth Tiger Project has captured people’s imaginations as much in the present day as it did during the time when she was a familiar site on Holmfirth’s streets during the 1940s.
Holmfirth Civic Hall will host a special celebration event including a documentary with footage of Fenella on Wednesday, April 8 from 1pm to 3pm.
Special guest Kassie Overend, from Fenella’s original circus family, will also unveil a commemorative mosaic.
A new children’s picture book of her story will also go on sale.
The event has been organised by Huddersfield Local Studies Library and Holmfirth Library in partnership with the original owners of Fenella, the Overend family.
