COUNCIL officials have warned homeowners about rogue traders who are trying to benefit from community projects.

Kirklees Council has received reports about traders attempting to mislead Batley residents into buying insulation that they can get free from the Kirklees Warm Zone.

The Warm Zone is a council project that offers free cavity wall and loft insulation to every Kirklees home to make the home warmer and reduce energy consumption.

Clr Molly Walton, Kirklees Council Cabinet member for environmental issues, said: “Warm Zone is a fantastic project which is coming to every household in Kirklees.

“Warm Zone assessors will carry identification with them at all times and are easy to recognise, wearing red jackets with the Warm Zone Logo clearly displayed.”

Warm Zone is currently in the Holme Valley South and Greenhead wards.
