PEOPLE in Kirklees whose homes are not connected to the gas network are invited to apply to take part in a free energy efficiency scheme.
Kirklees Council wants to find the homes that would benefit most from having air source heat pumps.
The technology substantially cuts fuel costs as well as reducing the CO2 emissions associated with burning fossil fuels.
A spokesman said: "The householders most likely to benefit from the offer are those in isolated farms and rural communities."
