HONLEY C of E Junior School pupil Laura Hepworth is a super sign safety designer.

She was the winner of a competition organised by local police on a road safety theme.

Pc Philip Miller and Pcso Adelle Harrison spent a day with the children talking about road safety and how to keep safe on the road.

They organised the competition for the children to design a road safety sign.

Laura’s design was made into a metal sign which is now displayed at the top of the drive at the school gates.

The police said the standard of work entered for the competition was very high and thanked all the children for taking part.

Children at the school are also celebrating after the Friends of Honley Junior School raised money to buy playtime equipment for them.

The school council collected ideas for what the children would like to play with and were delighted with the bats, balls and skipping ropes which were bought.
