A take away worker was threatened with a handgun during a terrifying robbery in Honley.

The worker was alone in the Domino’s Pizza store in Huddersfield Road last night (Sunday) when the suspect burst in and brandished the weapon.

He demanded the worker hand over cash and then fled on foot.

The nasty attack happened at 9.13pm and detectives are now urging anyone who saw the mixed race suspect in the area.

Detective Constable Mark Willetts of Kirklees CID said: “This was clearly a distressing experience for the staff member, who was thankfully uninjured during the incident.

“The suspect who was wearing dark clothing and of mixed race, left the takeaway on foot, but it is not clear if he then entered a vehicle.

“I am particularly interested in hearing from any customers or passers by who may have seen a man fitting this description prior to the incident.

“If you can assist us in our enquiries, please call the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
