A GARAGE owner has been fined for selling cars on the roadside.
Glen Mossley, 44, left a number of cars near the junction of Gynn Lane and New Mill Road in Honley, Huddersfield magistrates heard.
Kirklees Council licensing officers were called out on May 1 following complaints, the court was told.
Carol English, prosecuting, said: “At the junction, there were a number of vehicles all displaying signs indicating the vehicles were for sale.”
They spoke to Mossley, who runs Westwood Motors on New Mill Road in Honley. He admitted the cars were his but said he did not realise he needed consent from the council to sell cars on the road.
Mossley, of New Mill, pleaded guilty to illegal street trading.
He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £200 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
