Honley heavy metal singer Biff Byford’s band are to honour a victim of the Paris terror attacks.

The band have spoken of their grief after a man who worked with them was killed in the terror attacks in France.

Nick Alexander died at the Bataclan concert hall, in Paris, where he was selling merchandise as the US band Eagles of Death Metal were playing a gig.

The 36-year-old was a merchandise manager who had worked with numerous bands around the world, including Saxon.

Now Saxon, fronted by Byford, have created a tribute t-shirt which is being sold in Mr Alexander’s memory - with all profits going to charity.

Members of the band say they are “devastated at the loss of such a great guy”.

“Nick was a well respected merchandise manager who has worked with many bands worldwide, including Saxon, and will be sorely missed by many friends and colleagues on the road.”

The shirt features an image of a horseman carrying the French tricolour flag, and the words Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité - translated as liberty, equality, fraternity - which is the national motto of France.

The band said all profits from the sale of the t-shirt will be donated to a charitable trust as instructed by Mr Alexander’s family.
