FORMER Manchester United goalkeeper Harry Gregg, 76, who pulled passengers from a burning plane during the Munich air crash received a special honour – the first time his efforts had been recognised.

Gregg (right) helped to save a pregnant woman and her daughter along with several team-mates in 1958.

Among other winners were Jaden Ashton, six, who rang 999 and tended to his mother when she fell into a diabetic coma, and Carl Duval, 16, who jumped on to train tracks to save a young woman who had fallen off the platform.

The British Olympic team got a Special Recognition prize.
