KIRKWOOD Hospice has opened a new shop in Market Street, Milnsbridge.

The shop, a replacement for smaller premises in the village, was officially opened by the Mayor of Kirklees, Clr Karam Hussain. He is pictured cutting the ribbon with shop manager Hannah Scott, the hospice’s retail coordinator Angela Dyson and staff and volunteers.

Ms Scott said: “We now have a great shop which has two large windows and a brilliant sales floor.

“We have been able to extend the range of products sold to include furniture, but still have loads of clothing, bric-a-brac, books and toys.”

Local businesses generously donated good to the shop to make sure that its opening was a success.
