A PATCH of land at Brackenhall could bring hope to hundreds of Huddersfield families. It has been earmarked as a potential site for a new children's hospice and respite centre.

Hard work by charity officials and Kirklees Council officers could mean the centre will rise on the three-acre site at Fell Greave Road soon.

Fundraisers for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, including fundraising manager Mandy Barwick, are delighted.

They hope to set the wheels in motion for a planning application and to continue fundraising for the centre.
