A HOSPITAL chaplain has got all revved up after a birthday spin in a Ferrari 430.

Sue Brooks, head of chaplaincy services at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, was delighted when she had the chance to get in the driving seat for her 60th birthday.

Sue, who has clocked up more than 13 years’ service with the trust, said: “I sat down and wrote a list of 60 things I would like to do in my 60s. The car lived up to all my expectations.

“People might think it strange for a chaplain to fancy a Ferrari, but life is for enjoying and this list has given me a new lease of life.”

Sue took to the track earlier this month and reached hair-raising speeds in her exhilarating four-lap drive round the test track at Elvington near York.

But despite her day in the fast lane Sue is more than happy with her role with the trust. She added: “I thoroughly enjoy my work at the hospital, meeting patients and their families, and I am also making the most of my own time.”

Other Items on her 60s wish list include reading 23 classic novels, going on safari, visiting the Italian coast, walking across the Humber Bridge, knitting a waistcoat, learning to play the guitar and taking part in a Race for Life.
