SHADOW Health Minister Andrew Lansley MP was in Dewsbury for a fact-finding mission.
He visited Dewsbury District Hospital, which has been plagued by financial problems.
It was the final visit of a busy day for the MP on a tour of West Yorkshire hospitals.
He had earlier visited hospitals in Ilkley, Bradford and Keighley.
Mr Lansley was accompanied by Clr Robert Light, prospective Tory candidate for Batley and Spen, and Sayeeda Warsi, prospective candidate for Dewsbury.
The group met hospital managers and staff and toured an acute care unit.
