A FROSTY start to spring did not stop the annual Netherton and South Crosland Gardener's Show being a success.

The event was held at Netherton Methodist Chapel and attracted 137 entries from 23 exhibitors.

Enjoying a display of daffodils at the show are Margaret Wood and George Ridgwick.

Mrs B Todd took the best in show award for her exhibits.

Show secretary Michele Heeley said: "Considering the late spring this year, we had a lot of entries.

"We did extremely well because our exhibitors and visitors gave tremendous support."

There were 39 classes in the show - which was the 66th held by the Netherton and South Crosland Garden Association.

It also holds a summer show every year.
