Householders in Mirfield thought they were going mad when lights in their homes started “pulsing.”
Several families reported flickering lights with some saying the effect was like the start of a migraine.
Jo Watson turned to Facebook group Mirfield Matters on Tuesday night to see if other people had experienced something similar.
Many were relieved it wasn’t just them with one woman saying: “Thought it was me going crackers!” And another said: “Thank goodness. Thought it was my eyes.”
Another added: “We’ve got LEDs in our bathroom and they’ve been doing it.”
Someone else reported: “Been having trouble with mine last couple of days. Televisions keep turning off and on.”
People were worried about their own wiring systems and another woman said: “I was checking the fuse box and everything. Thought something was resting on a switch or something. Glad that mystery is solved.”
Residents complained to Northern Powergrid and were told flooding may have affected a sub-station.
A spokesman told the Examiner that engineers were looking into the problem and apologised to customers.
