IT wasn’t so much boy meets girl – perhaps more boil meets grill.

A pair of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary chefs have just tied the knot in Las Vegas.

Ash Robinson, 40, and Mel Livingstone, 27, have worked together for the past eleven years.

After two years in the kitchen together, the couple confessed that it wasn’t just a love of food that they shared.

And last year Ash proposed to Mel in their Golcar home.

He said: “I asked Mel to get the teabags from the top cupboard to make me a brew.

“When she turned back around I was on one knee with a ring.”

The pair met when Mel started as a catering assistant at the hospital and Ash was already a head chef.

Mel said: “As funny as it sounds there was an instant connection between us.”

The couple married in front of close friends and family at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on Ash’s 40th birthday.

He said: “At least this means I won’t forget our anniversary.”

The pair then jetted off on honeymoon to San Francisco, before returning to Huddersfield for a wedding party the following weekend.
