HUDDERSFIELD actress Jodie Whittaker and Brighouse’s Secret Millionaire Carl Hopkins have teamed up to back Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The charity has developed a range of key rings and pin badges based on the nostalgic 1970s children’s characters The Clangers, to raise vital funds for research into cancer.

Jodie has also given her support to Yorkshire Cancer Research’s Bounce for Sheffield event to take place at Don Valley Bowl in Sheffield on Sunday, July 25.

The space hopper event hopes to see the largest number of people bouncing on space hoppers simultaneously for one minute in an attempt to snatch the Guinness World Record from the current record holders in Mexico City.

The award-winning actress who shot to fame in the film Venus, opposite Peter O'Toole, took part in a photo shoot for the charity while she was back in the region for a friend’s wedding.
