Woman hurt in Elland crash
Police have been dealing with a three-vehicle collision on Victoria Road, Elland, near Jepson Lane. One of the cars overturned just after 3pm. A woman driver suffered cuts and bruises, police said. A police spokeswoman said the road was being cleared of debris.

Top baby names
The UK’s most popular baby names of 2016 have been revealed.
“Isla” and “Alfie” remain in their top spot for the country’s favourites.
Oscar, Teddy, Harry and Jack are top for boy’s names so far this year.
Amelia, Evie, Ava and Freya have also come up trumps for 2016’s newborn baby girls.
Teenagers "unhappy with their looks"
A third of teenage girls in West Yorkshire are unhappy with their looks, a report claims.
The study by the Children’s Society also says one in seven are unhappy with their lives.
The study, put together with the help of the University of York, looked at girls aged between 10 and 15.
There are an estimated 78,000 girls of that age in West Yorkshire.

Teenage driver robbed at Grange Moor
An 18-year-old woman was victim of a terrifying robbery on Wakefield Road after thugs crashed into her car.
The young woman was driving near the Grange Moor roundabout when she noticed a green Nissan Terrano driving erratically behind her at 6.30pm last night.
The victim pulled over into the Kaye Arms car park to avoid a collision.
But the vehicle followed her and crashed into her vehicle before a gang of five men wearing balaclavas jumped out.
They pulled her from her car and stole jewellery before making off in their car along Wakefield Road.
The woman was left with minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.
Their vehicle was then abandoned a couple of minutes later in a car park at the Lepton Liberal Working Mens Club, on Wakefield Road.

Racial abuse at train station
The British Transport Police are appealing to West Yorkshire after a staff member was racially abused in Leeds Station.
The incident happened on Tuesday, 16 August just after 10.30pm when the member of staff challenged a man who was attempting to pass through the barriers without a ticket.
When he advised the man he needed a ticket to travel he was racially abused.
The man returned a short while later after purchasing a ticket and when he had passed through the barrier, he threw the ticket at the victim.

Years later, we remember the People’s Princess on her visit to Huddersfield in March 1982, when she was pregnant with Prince William.
Arrested teens bailed in Craig Nelson murder
Three teenagers arrested in connection with the murder of Craig Nelson have been bailed.
Two boys were arrested on suspicion of murder and a girl on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
They were questioned by detectives and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Three further arrests over murder of Craig Nelson
Three 15-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the death of Craig Nelson.
Mohammed Shiraz Bashir, 41, and Leonie Mason, 23, of Holme Park Court, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates yesterday and were remanded into custody.
South Yorkshire Police, who are dealing with the case, say they have now arrested one girl and two boys in connection with the case.
The boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder and the girl on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. The three are currently in custody.

Collision in Brighouse referred to IPCC
Police have been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) following a car crash in Brighouse at the weekend.
Three people were injured in the collision on Elland Road on Sunday afternoon after a silver Mazda being pursued by police in relation to a burglary and car theft.
The Mazda collided with a blue Ford Kuga at 6.46pm near the junction with Cromwell Bottom Drive.
The driver of the Mazda, a 49-year-old man from Halifax, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 27-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Mazda was also seriously injured.
The 58-year-old woman driver of the Kuga suffered minor injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the movements of the vehicle prior to it is asked to contact the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team on 101, quoting log *0739 of 28 August.
Morning all. Heavy traffic on the M62 eastbound at Chain Bar with traffic coming on from the M606. Other than that, busy in the usual places in Brighouse and the Calderdale Way. No other incidents to be aware of at the moment.
