HUDDERSFIELD Bridge Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

And one of the founding members came along to join in the party.

Hubert Castle was part of the small group that started the club – which now has more than 250 players.

Anne Singleton, who is believed to have played at the club for more than 60 years was also at the event.

Club committee member Patrick Trevanion said: “We toasted a further 75 years and are looking forward to the club’s continued growth. We have had a surge in the past three years which is probably down to the tutoring that the club offers. We have a specialist tutor and many of our experienced players give extra teaching too. People play at the club on Cambridge Road every weekday night and some afternoons we have one or more competitions.”
